Biffa Buzz and Serious on Safety were two publications periodically distributed through the Royal Mail to the whole organisation both in the UK and abroad. The 12 page magazine and tabloid newspaper dealt with every issue normally encountered within an office or industrial workplace and brought them together in one envelope. Charity involvement, share and pension information, business acquisitions, heroic stories and tragic accidents were delivered side by side so the individual employees had a better understanding of how and where they fitted within the organisation and how their organisation fitted within the community.

South was responsible for the design, production and delivery of the two products from basic text documents to over 5,000 addresses. Photography and illustrations were sourced and commissioned on a regular basis to complement the provided content. The publications were often used as a channel to distribute other items company wide. Year on year the annual employee survey always showed extremely positive results in communication; essential for schemes such as IIP (Investors In People).
